Our Mission

Our mission is to bring yoga to our community, to make the benefits of yoga accessible to everyone, young and old, from beginner to experienced. We have done this by creating an atmosphere of safety and non-competition through the use of props. It is called “Ahimsa”, an attitude of avoiding harm to ourselves and others. Each student is encouraged to develop and his or her own pace within each class. We believe this supports positive aging and keeping the body, mind and spirit alive and well. Our Story

Paulette and I opened The Studio January 1, 2008 with 46 people for a New’s Year Day  yoga class.  We were taking classes in church basements, school libraries, a middle school music room,  a friend’s garage and a former pan-asian restaurant.  We had built a loyal following and it was time to find a new home.

Being in this new beautiful space has allowed us to expand our classes and create a safe, well-equipped yoga studio to help quiet minds and renew bodies. We’re used to hearing about the mind/body connection but to me having seen The Studio grow over the past 8years what I see is a body/mind connection. I’ve witnessed the practice of yoga ease sore joints, relieve chronic back pain, create more flexible bodies and calmer, quieter minds.  Any way you look at it, it’s the definition of well-being.
